In a related incident, a 7-year-old boy named Sarim, who went missing 11 days ago in North Karachi, was also found dead yesterday. The SSP Central said that Sarim’s body was found in an underground tank of a building. The body has been sent for a post-mortem, and it seems the incident may have been accidental.
Sarim’s father had earlier filed a kidnapping case at Bilal Colony Police Station. He reported that Sarim went missing on January 7 after leaving for his school’s madrassa.
This week, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori visited Sarim’s family and assured them of full support in finding their son. The kidnapping case was transferred to the AVCC, and the boy’s family had received a ransom demand of 500,000 rupees. Police are now investigating the number from which the ransom message was sent.
