LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced several welfare projects on International Labor Day, including a 200-bed cardiac city in Lahore. She praised workers, saying, “A worker is God’s friend, and we value them.”
According to the details, a Rs. 84 billion package was introduced to support over 1.2 million workers and miners with a Rs. 3,000 monthly subsidy through ration cards. Workers will also receive digital cash transfers, advance salaries, Labor Day rewards, and 13 other benefits via JS Bank cards.
In Lahore, a 200-bed cardiac city will be built for workers. Wellness centers will be established in three cities. Social security hospitals with 50 beds each have been opened in Kasur and Sargodha, and a similar hospital will be constructed in Rahim Yar Khan.
Report says that, a network of tele-clinics will provide quality healthcare. A new labor colony will be built in Warburton, and Labor Colony Phase-II will be developed in Multan.

To support women working in factories, 300 daycare centers will be set up. The province will ensure minimum wage payments for the first time.
The Chief Minister said , “No nation can progress without workers.” She welcomed the opening of a labor colony in Taxila and a worker welfare complex in Sundar Estate, congratulating all workers.
These measures will provide workers across Punjab with better healthcare, housing, and financial support, improving their quality of life.
