ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the F-8 underpass, completed in a record time of 42 days, aimed at easing traffic flow on two major routes of the Federal Capital, Islamabad—Jinnah Avenue and 9th Avenue.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, attended by Ministers Senator Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Attaullah Tarar, Members of the National Assembly, and the Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), the prime minister described the timely completion of the underpass as a significant achievement.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said that the underpass was finished within 42 days of starting its construction, making it an important achievement. He commended the interior minister and his team for their exemplary efforts, calling it a testament to how nations advance through relentless dedication.
PM Shehbaz also extended his congratulations to CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, his team, and the contractor for their exceptional accomplishment.
He said he was sure that the new underpass would reduce traffic jams in the city and asked the city agency to show the same speed in finishing the Serena Chowk underpass. PM also praised the Islamabad Traffic Police for ensuring smooth traffic flow during the construction phase.

Earlier, Interior Minister Mohsin Raza Naqvi acknowledged the CDA team’s efforts and congratulated the Chairman CDA on completing the project within the stipulated timeframe.
He announced that, following the prime minister’s directive, the CDA would establish a nursery by March next year to supply affordable and quality plants to residents of the Capital.
He also lauded the ICT Traffic Police for their crucial role in managing traffic effectively at the project site.
