PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has announced plans to offer free solar systems to 100,000 (1 lakh) families grappling with load-shedding.

Apart from this, a meeting of the Health Department was held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur.

It was stated in the briefing that the purpose of setting up telemedicine centers is to reduce the mortality rate of children. The centers will ensure the provision of emergency treatment to children. It is proposed to establish 9 emergency rooms and 100 telemedicine centers in the province.

Three days ago, the Punjab government also announced that it would begin distributing free solar panels across the province on Independence Day, August 14, 2024.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also announced that households consuming up to 200 units of electricity per month will receive free solar panels.

People who use between 200 and 500 units of electricity each month will get solar panels for just 10% of the price, thanks to a 90% subsidy from the Punjab government.

Punjab CM Maryam pointed out that this plan aims to cut electricity bills by 40%, showing her dedication to helping the public. “These are challenging times, but we stand with the people and will continue to do so,” Maryam said.
