PM Shehbaz Sharif lauds ‘Great Progress’ in Pakistan-Saudi Relations

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hailed Pakistan’s recent diplomatic and trade engagements with Saudi Arabia as “significant progress” during an interview with Private Media.

He emphasized the identification of areas for mutual cooperation at governmental and business levels, marking a clear path forward. Both nations are set to collaborate on various fronts including mines, minerals, renewable energy, and investments.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed his government’s full support for Saudi investments, aiming to expedite projects through joint ventures. He stressed the government’s role in providing policy frameworks and removing obstacles to achieve economic goals swiftly.

Shehbaz Sharif described Pakistan’s longstanding ties with Saudi Arabia as “historic,” highlighting their enduring partnership for regional progress and prosperity.

His comments come amidst recent interactions with Saudi officials, including productive discussions with Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman and positive outcomes from the Pak-Saudi investment conference.

Discussing economic stability, Shehbaz outlined initiatives such as enhancing agricultural production with modern technology, leveraging Saudi expertise in information technology, and joint efforts to train Pakistani youth for employment opportunities in the kingdom.

He noted the potential for collaboration with other countries like Kuwait, Qatar, UAE, Turkey, and China in IT and investment sectors.

The Prime Minister acknowledged Pakistan’s economic challenges and underscored his government’s commitment to implementing reforms for economic recovery and growth. He expressed confidence in the leadership of Mohammed Bin Salman to catalyze a global economic transformation.
