ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a helpline to promptly address complaints of water accumulation caused by heavy rain in the federal capital, with the aim of minimizing any inconvenience to citizens.

This effort was initiated under the leadership of Chairman CDA, Capt (r) Anwar ul Haq. Teams from the CDA, MCI, and ICT were actively engaged during heavy rainfall in Islamabad. They swiftly responded to reports of standing water in different areas and ensured the clearance of water pooled on highways.

Additionally, special measures were implemented on the highways, following directives from the CDA administration, to ease the impact of heavy rains on traffic flow and prevent issues like congestion.

Joint teams from CDA, MCI, and ICT were deployed across CDA’s sectorial and non-sectorial areas, including housing societies and other low-lying regions. These teams provided assistance, including using dewatering pumps, to drain water from low-lying areas, including residential properties.

It’s important to note that in light of the rainy conditions, relevant staff holidays have been canceled. Moreover, duties have been assigned to staff members at various intervals, and strict monitoring of low-lying areas is being maintained.
