ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad district administration on Friday granted permission to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a public gathering (jalsa) in the federal capital Islamabad.

As per a private media report, this was stated by a representative of the administration during a hearing on a contempt of court plea filed by the PTI in the Islamabad High Court (IHC).

The Islamabad district administration had refused the PTI permission to hold a rally despite the IHC order.

The IHC was informed that the Deputy Commissioner’s Office has granted the PTI permission to hold a rally on the Rawat-GT Road.

The judge told the PTI counsel Shoaib Shaheen that he can challenge the administration decision. Advocate Shaheen replied that the party would challenge the decision.

District administration has issued the NOC to PTI to hold public rally with 39 conditions. Anti-state slogans and speeches aren’t permitted at the public rally, which must conclude at the stipulated time.
