ISLAMABAD: Famed TV actress Bushra Ansari officially announced her remarriage with Film Director Iqbal Hussain on Monday.
During a Vlog on her YouTube channel, the actress shared her thoughts on tying the knot again at an older age.
In the Vlog, Iqbal Hussain recounted their first encounter in 2016 during the shooting of the serial “Sita Bagri”. Both were divorced and single at the time, and it was during this shoot that he proposed to Bushra Ansari.
Bushra mentioned that Iqbal Hussain’s divorce had preceded hers, and although some time had passed since her own divorce, they hadn’t crossed paths until then.
“I kept my divorce to myself for a year and a half,” the actress revealed.
She expressed, “I wasn’t planning to remarry for quite some time. After a year and a half, I introduced Iqbal Hussain to my family, and everyone was delighted to meet him.”
Iqbal Hussain expressed their desire to challenge societal norms regarding marrying an older woman.
The couple emphasized that just as children often see their father remarry after a divorce or loss, a mother also has the right to pursue happiness.
“If you find a genuine partner, there’s no harm in embarking on a new journey together,” she remarked.
It’s worth noting that rumors of Bushra Ansari and Iqbal Hussain’s marriage had circulated in 2019, but neither had confirmed or denied these reports. Bushra Ansari openly discussed her divorce in 2020 and confirmed her remarriage in 2023, withholding the identity of her spouse at that time.
Bushra Ansari had tied the knot with Iqbal Ansari in 1978, and 36 years later, they parted ways. Meanwhile, Iqbal Hussain’s first marriage was to actress and host Farah Hussain.
