RAWALPINDI: The leadership of the Pakistan Army has strongly criticized the spreading of harmful misinformation intended to create division between citizens and the armed forces, cautioning that strict measures will be taken against those involved in spreading unfounded accusations.

These concerns were voiced during the 264th Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at the GHQ, chaired by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The conference honored the sacrifices of martyrs, including armed forces personnel, law enforcement agencies (LEAs), and civilians who have given their lives for peace and stability in the country.

The conference observed that unjustified accusations against law enforcement agencies and security forces are becoming increasingly common, serving a larger agenda to sow discord between the people and the Armed Forces of Pakistan.

“We will resist such attempts, and appropriate action will be taken within the bounds of the law and constitution,” affirmed the conference.

The army leadership reiterated its commitment to supporting the government in achieving sustainable socioeconomic development, including combating illegal activities such as smuggling, hoarding, electricity theft, and ensuring the repatriation of all illegal immigrants.

General Munir praised the relentless efforts of the Pakistan Army and LEAs in thwarting numerous terrorist attacks and neutralizing key terrorist figures in ongoing counterterrorism operations.

He instructed commanders to actively prevent terrorists from gaining any foothold, as stated by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The COAS asserted, “With the unwavering support of the resilient nation, Pakistan’s armed forces and LEAs are resolute in eradicating this menace from our land, by the will of Allah.”

The conference also condemned the brutal terrorist attack on Chinese nationals in Besham, as well as the merciless killings of innocent civilians in Balochistan.

Commanders were briefed on the threat posed by terrorist groups based in Afghanistan to regional and global security, as well as their use as proxies against Pakistan and its economic interests, particularly the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

They expressed grave concern over the ongoing Indian aggression in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to providing political, diplomatic, and moral support to Kashmiris.

Solidarity was expressed with the people of Palestine, condemning the severe human rights violations, war crimes, and genocide in Gaza.

The conference also voiced concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East, warning of the potential for wider regional conflict if immediate de-escalation measures are not taken by both sides.

COAS Munir instructed field commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness and morale within their units, and to strive for professional excellence through comprehensive training.
