ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued a ban on the purchase of petrol motorcycles and instructed the provision of international standard emergency services to Islamabad residents.
Mohsin Naqvi further instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to exclusively procure electric bikes in the future to combat environmental pollution. He also announced plans to introduce eco-friendly electric buses for Islamabad residents.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued these directives while presiding over a high-level meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad. Naqvi has resolved to implement several measures aimed at elevating the federal capital to international standards.
It was also decided to shift emergency services from the Municipal Corporation Islamabad to the Capital Development Authority and establish Capital WASA soon.
It was further decided to expedite the process of finalizing matters related to establishing the Capital Waste Management Company and constructing an underpass at Serena Chowk and a flyover at F-9 Park Chowk.
The Interior Minister instructed the relevant authorities to expedite work to swiftly complete the pending construction of the Islamabad Expressway project.
It was reported in the meeting that work on the Islamabad Model Jail, stalled for the past seventeen years, is progressing rapidly, with the first phase set to be completed within the stipulated period.
He mentioned that Business Facilitation Centers are being set up in Islamabad, offering comprehensive investor services under one roof.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that the process of allotting land for the construction of the Health Tower in the H-16 sector of the Federal Capital has been completed.
The Minister also congratulated the entire team of CDA, including its Chairman, for achieving record tax collection.
Mohsin Naqvi instructed the CDA authorities to prepare an investment plan for the organization and submit it within a week.
