LAHORE: The educational authorities in Punjab have initiated a significant measure aimed at enhancing students’ English proficiency and aligning educational standards with global benchmarks.
As per the plan, all educational boards throughout the province will administer matriculation examinations in English for both science and arts streams commencing in 2025.
Under this initiative, gradual elimination of Urdu from exam question papers will ensure a consistent language medium across all subjects. Additionally, starting from 2026, all optional subjects for FA exams will also be conducted in English.
While the formal approval for this policy is pending, educational authorities remain optimistic about its endorsement during the forthcoming Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) meeting.
