RAWALPINDI: As per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement issued on Friday, security forces killed two terrorists, including a commander, in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district.

The military’s media wing reported that the operation took place on the night of January 4-5, targeting the presence of terrorists in the area.

“After a fierce exchange of fire during the operation, two terrorists, including Gul Yousaf, also recognized as Toor and regarded as a high-value target (HVT), were neutralized,” stated the ISPR.

The ISPR’s statement highlighted that Yousaf had been actively engaged in several terrorist activities against security forces, involving notable terrorist attacks in Tank and DI Khan districts. Additionally, he was involved in extortion and targeting innocent civilians.

“Law enforcement agencies had a reward of Rs2.5 million for his capture,” the ISPR mentioned.

The statement expressed appreciation from the local populace for the security forces’ efforts in upholding peace and stability in the region. It further emphasized the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces, aligned with the nation’s resolve, to eradicate terrorism from the country.
