WASHINGTON, D.C: Top defense officials from the United States and Pakistan engaged in a high-level telephone conversation , marking a significant development in their efforts to strengthen defense ties.

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Gen. Asim Munir conducted the dialogue to deliberate upon areas of mutual interest and to assess recent regional developments.
