LAHORE: The senior-most judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, has taken oath as the acting Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court, where Justice Ayesha A. Malik administered the oath.
The event was attended by Justice Shahid Waheed, Justice Aamer Farooq, Justice Shahid Bilal, Justice Ali Baqar Najafi, Advocate General Punjab Amjad Pervaiz, and other senior lawyers.
It is important to mention that Chief Justice Yahya Afridi is currently in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.

Earlier, since Justice Mansoor Ali Shah was also abroad, the next senior-most judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Munib Akhtar, served as the acting Chief Justice until June 6.
Chief Justice Yahya Afridi is expected to return to Pakistan on Tuesday, June 10, after Eid-ul-Adha.
