Rawalpindi: In a step towards women empowerment, three female police officers have been appointed as additional Station House Officers (SHOs) at three police stations in Rawalpindi.
According to a police spokesperson, the appointments were made by City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani.
Inspector Farsia Naz has been posted as additional SHO at City police station, Inspector Syeda Maria Batool at Chaklala police station, and Inspector Amna Shoaib at Cantt police station.
The spokesperson said this move is part of the Chief Minister of Punjab’s vision to promote women empowerment in the police department.

CPO Khalid Hamdani said that this is the first phase, where female officers are being given the role of additional SHOs. In the next phase, they will also be appointed as full SHOs.
He added that women are showing excellent performance in every field. Female police officers in Punjab Police are working side by side with male officers and are well trained in investigation and operations.
Their contribution to the police force is valuable and highly appreciated, the CPO said.
