LAHORE: Free preparation classes for the MDCAT test will begin in government colleges across Punjab from June 2. According to sources, students will need to register to benefit from this free facility.
This year, around 150 government colleges across the province will offer free MDCAT test preparation. Each college will receive Rs. 5 lakh to support the training program. In addition, five trained instructors will be appointed in every college to guide the students.
The initiative is being supported by the Federal Bureau of Statistics. Officials say the program aims to help students from all backgrounds prepare for the medical entry test without any financial burden.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has also decided to create a question bank to solve complaints related to MDCAT questions.
PMDC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj, recently speaking to a newspaper, said that many complaints about easy and difficult questions arose in the MDCAT exams conducted by the four provinces. To address this issue, the PMDC has started preparing a question bank with the help of experts. This question bank will contain 2,000 questions.
He added that after the question bank is ready, provinces or their testing institutions will select questions only from this bank for the MDCAT, instead of using questions from outside sources. This will ensure that all students get equal chances.
Dr Rizwan Taj said that this year, the MDCAT will be held in October, after the results of Intermediate Part II exams are announced.
