LONDON: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) conducted a protest outside Hull University during the Human Rights Conference in London.
Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar, the one who sentenced PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the Tosha Khana case, is presently in England for judicial training.
Judge Humayun Dilawar is attending Judicial Training in London from August 5 to 13, focusing on Human Rights and the Rule of Law, at the University of Hull, UK.
However, PTI workers protested outside the campus during the Human Rights Conference at Hull University.
During the demonstration, PTI supporters chanted slogans in support of Chairman PTI, Imran Khan.
Reports suggest that PTI UK President Imran Khalil submitted a petition to block Islamabad Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar’s participation in the conference.
The University of Hull clarifies that the selection of judges for training lies with their respective High Courts; the university has no role in this process.
It’s worth noting that in recent days, Judge Humayun Dilawar of the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad presided over the Tosha Khana case.
The court sentenced Imran Khan to three years in prison in connection to the Tosha Khana case, subsequently leading to the arrest of the PTI chairman in Lahore.
