DUBAI: Anum Khan Muhammad Sher, a police officer from Sargodha City Police Station in Pakistan’s province Punjab, has received the ‘Excellence in Criminal Investigation’ award at the 2025 World Police Summit Awards in Dubai.
As per the details, the award recognizes her work in criminal investigations and leadership, bringing attention to Pakistan’s law enforcement efforts globally.
The ceremony was organized by Dubai Police, with attendees from over 90 countries. Anum Khan was honored for solving two murder cases in Punjab.
In the first case, she led the investigation into the death of a 12-year-old domestic worker, Ayesha Bibi. Her team arrested the suspects within 72 hours, earning praise from officials and the public.
In the second case, she ensured the quick arrest of suspects involved in the killing of a young man named Mohsin, with justice served in 24 hours. Her work in these cases had earlier been recognized by Punjab Police.

The World Police Summit, supported by the UAE government, is a major event for honoring police work worldwide. Anum Khan was selected from over 900 entries.
After receiving the award, she said, “This is a proud moment for Pakistan and Punjab Police. I am honored to represent my country and show our ability to meet international policing standards. This award is for my whole team.”
Her achievement is seen as an important step for Pakistan’s police, especially Punjab Police, showing their progress in professionalism. It also highlights the role of women officers in law enforcement in Pakistan and abroad.
Separately, Superintendent of Police (SP) Aisha Butt from Punjab Police has been chosen for the Excellence in Performance Award 2025 by the International Association of Women Police (IAWP).

SP Aisha Butt, currently serving as the City Traffic Officer in Gujranwala, was recognized for her significant contributions to policing and her effective work in the field. She will receive the award at the IAWP’s 62nd Annual Conference in Glasgow, Scotland, in September 2025.
The Excellence in Performance Award is given each year to a female police officer worldwide for her notable service to society and the police force.
Punjab Inspector General (IG) Police Dr Usman Anwar congratulated SP Aisha Butt on her achievement. He said her success is a source of pride for the police force, especially for female officers, and noted her dedication as an example for others.
