PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to plant fruit and Native trees across the province to restore the natural environment.
According to the details, Advisor to KP Chief Minister, Barrister Saif, said that the Chief Minister has sent official instructions to all secretaries, commissioners, and deputy commissioners.
He said that many Native birds like bulbul, myna, and hoopoe are in danger because fruit trees are disappearing. These birds have already left many areas of KP.
He added that the Chief Minister has ordered the planting of trees in government offices, residential colonies, and other public places. Departments have also been directed to launch a tree plantation campaign during the monsoon season.
KP Budget: 7 New Mega Projects Planned
In another development, the KP government has decided to include seven new mega projects in the next financial year’s budget.

The salaries of government employees will be increased according to the federal government’s decision. More funds will also be given to security, education, and health departments. The government has also decided not to take any unnecessary loans.
According to newspaper report, KP Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam shared the government’s budget priorities. He said that last year, the province presented an extra budget of Rs100 billion. This year, they are planning an additional budget of up to Rs180 billion.
Speaking to the media in Peshawar, he said that when he took office, KP’s total debt was Rs650 billion. Later, due to an increase in the dollar rate, the debt amount also rose. The dollar went up from Rs150 to Rs300 but has now come down.
Muzammil Aslam said that till June 2024, the province’s debt stands at Rs679.5 billion. Special funds have been created to repay the debt. Currently, KP is paying back Rs70 billion every year, which includes interest on federal loans.
