LAHORE: In Punjab, schools have made it necessary for women teachers to wear shalwar kameez and dupatta. Men teachers are not allowed to wear jeans and t-shirts, and girl students are banned from using makeup.
According to details, the School Education Department has issued instructions about a dress code for teachers. The department has stopped men teachers from wearing jeans and t-shirts.
The School Education Department has also told all government and private schools in Punjab to arrange for Zuhr prayer during school hours.
It should be noted that on March 26, 2025, the Sindh Education Department issued a code of conduct for school teachers.

It banned women teachers from using heavy makeup, wearing a lot of jewelry, or high heels. Men teachers were also told not to wear jeans.
Later, the Sindh Education Department clarified news reports about the dress code. They said no ban was placed on any dress in schools. The department explained that the code of conduct for teachers should be seen as guidelines, not strict orders.
