RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) said they took 420 kilograms of meat from dead animals near Darya Khan in Punjab and threw it away at a special dumping place, as per the official news agency report.
In many areas of the country, people sell meat from dead animals. The police often do raids to catch those doing it. According to Islamic rules, eating meat from an animal that died without proper slaughter or hunting is not allowed.
The official news agency, quoting PFA sources, said that after getting a tip, a raid was done with police help near Darya Khan. They found 420 kilograms of meat from dead animals.
A veterinary doctor at the scene said the animal had died before being slaughtered, according to the report. A case has been filed against the person accused, the news agency added.
Last month, the Chowk Sarwar Shaheed Patrolling Police found 20 maund of meat from dead animals in a van at Riazabad Chowk.

The Patrol Police caught the van driver right away. The meat from dead animals was being taken from Chowk Azam to a local hotel in Multan.
When told about it, the PFA came to the spot and started legal action. The Patrol Police and PFA got rid of the dead meat.
In November 2022, the city administration did a big operation early in the morning after getting a tip. A team from the city district administration took a large amount of meat from dead animals.
The meat was about to be sent to city hotels, restaurants, and markets. The team, led by the assistant commissioner (city), also arrested 11 people at a cold storage where the meat, weighing two tonnes, was kept.
