RAWALPINDI: Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb released the details of relief in electricity bills for the people of Punjab.
In one of her statements, Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the relief of a 14-rupees-per-unit reduction in bills has started reaching electricity consumers using between 201 and 500 units.
Relief was provided to 3,516,877 consumers of five electricity companies in Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Islamabad.
She said that the process of printing and delivering relief bills by all five companies is progressing rapidly.
Eight hundred and forty thousand consumers of Lahore Electric Supply Company, 653,883 of Multan Electric Supply Company, 506,139 of Faisalabad Electric Supply Company, 731,305 consumers of Gujranwala Electric Supply Company, and 785,550 consumers of Islamabad Electric Supply Company have received relief in their electricity bills. The amount of special relief has also been published.
Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has made the impossible task of providing relief to the people possible, despite difficult economic conditions. “A glimpse of this is certainly visible, and more relief will be given to the people,” she added.
She said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is making a new history of providing relief to the people. Her mission is to alleviate inflation, bring the best service system, and make the province an example of development in the world.
The senior provincial minister said that it is the tradition of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to make every impossible possible and to always keep his promises.
“The culprit of the nation’s inflation is the founder of PTI, who brought back inflation. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif said goodbye to the IMF, but the need for the IMF re-emerged in Pakistan due to the economic collapse caused by the founder of PTI.”
The senior minister added that the government will soon start the next phase of providing permanent relief to the people through solar energy.
A free solar system will be provided to consumers who use up to 200 units, while consumers using between 201 and 500 units will be provided a free solar system in easy installments.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Pakistan Muslim League (N) President Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, along with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, had announced a reduction of 14 rupees per unit in electricity bills for the people of Punjab on August 16.
To fulfill this promise, an amount of 46 billion rupees has been allocated on behalf of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to provide relief to the people of Punjab.
