ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has decided to pay salaries and pensions early to government workers before Eid-ul-Fitr in 2025. Eid is expected to fall on March 31 or April 1, 2025. To help employees enjoy the holiday, salaries will be paid on March 27, and pensioners will also get their March pensions on the same day. The Ministry of Finance has told offices to make this happen, and an official notice is out.
The provinces like Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are doing the same, giving their workers early salaries for Eid. In Pakistan, people love this tradition where the government pays workers early before big festivals. It happens when the new month starts about a week after the celebration. This way, everyone has money to enjoy the holidays. For example, Christians get paid early before Christmas. It shows Pakistan respects all its different religious communities.

For Eid shopping, most people start when Ramadan begins. They buy unstitched fabric to make special clothes. Some wait until a week before Eid to shop. Others, who like a thrill, wait until Chand Raat—the night before Eid. That night, they rush to markets for ready-made clothes, shoes, jewelry, and sweets to enjoy on Eid day.
