The house has only one washroom in the courtyard, which is used by many people besides her. Sometimes, she has to wait her turn to use it after others.

Hum tv drama Dil Wali Gali Mein Story:
The story of this drama is like this a newlywed bride (Sajal Ali) finds out after her departure that her room does not have an attached bathroom. There is one bathroom in the courtyard which is used by several people besides her. Sometimes she even has to wait her turn to use it. According to the viewers, this is the reason why they are liking Dil Wali Gali a lot.
How do the privacy issues, starting from the washroom, affect every aspect of married life? This drama discusses all these issues in a seemingly light but very sensitive manner.
The story of the drama Dil Wali Gali Mein tells how Maji and Dejo got married out of love despite their families’ opposition, but the lack of privacy has become the biggest challenge in their relationship.
When someone asks Maji for his home address, he says, “Bright Future School.” This is because they live in a room built on the roof of that school, which his mother runs as the principal. Maji’s sister and brother-in-law also work at the school and live there.
Besides the interference of the whole family, the school staff and children are also part of this new couple’s journey.
So, when Dejo waits in line to use the washroom, the children singing “Lab Pe Aati” in chorus remind her even more that she is not in her own home but in a public place.
“In the family system we live in, nothing can happen. We can’t eat from the same plate as our wife, we can’t laugh openly; mothers and sisters start feeling insecure,” Maji complains to his friend. He adds, with tears, that they had more freedom and privacy before marriage. But now, as a married couple, others seem to have more control over their lives than they do.

This privacy issue follows Maji and Dejo not just at home but outside too, after Dejo gets upset, Maji takes her to a hotel room secretly, away from family, so they can enjoy a honeymoon freely. But the hotel staff asks for their marriage certificate and refuses to accept them as married without it.
With a friend’s help, they get a room, but soon the police come and start asking them questions, since they don’t have a marriage certificate, the police think they are suspicious and take them to the station.
At first, this seems like a funny situation, but it turns serious when it becomes clear that two people in love might lose their chance to marry just because no one respects their personal freedom.
At the station, amid threats, accusations of being criminals, and harassment, Maji and Dejo feel helpless in handcuffs. Then a senior officer steps in, frees them, and scolds the junior officers.
The same senior officer says words to them that every citizen should know about their rights:
“Why did you need to leave home and get a hotel room? That’s the real question. You give chances to some dishonest people among us. They take advantage of your difficulties. In the future, don’t let any police officer blackmail you. The law doesn’t say we should go around checking your marriage certificates.”
