Former Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pervez Khattak, has decided to join Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F). He will announce his decision on February 22.
According to Express News, Pervez Khattak met Maulana Fazlur Rehman and confirmed his joining. His brother, Liaqat Khattak, was also present at the meeting.
Khattak and Maulana Fazlur Rehman held detailed discussions. On February 22, they will hold a press conference in Manki Sharif, Nowshera, to formally announce the decision.
Ending Differences with Brother
A few days ago, Pervez Khattak said he was ending his differences with his younger brother, Liaqat Khattak.
Speaking to Geo News, he said he had taken Maulana Fazlur Rehman into confidence on this matter. Liaqat Khattak is already involved in politics through JUI-F.
Khattak said he will announce his future political plans at the February 22 gathering. He also praised Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s role in national politics and said future political decisions at the provincial level will be made with consultation.
