PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has made an important decision regarding the payment of salaries and pensions for employees.
According to private media reports, the government has decided to pay salaries to government employees and pensions to retired employees on February 28 instead of March 1, 2025. This change is due to the weekly holidays on March 1 and 2 (Saturday and Sunday).
The Finance Department issued a statement explaining that salaries for January and pensions for retired employees were originally scheduled for March 1. However, because of the holidays, the payments will now be made on February 28.
In other news, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur announced that Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)-style buses will be introduced in the divisional headquarters of the province. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister. The meeting also decided to expand BRT services to other areas.
