ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: The federal government of Pakistan will amend the office hours to provide relief to employees during Ramadan 2025.
According to media reports, the working hours of government offices are likely to be reduced by two to three hours during Ramadan, which is likely to be implemented from March 2, 2025.
According to reports, the working hours of offices that open five days a week are expected to be fixed from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, while the working hours of offices that work six days a week are expected to be fixed from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
On Friday, the working hours of federal offices are likely to be kept from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm.

It should be noted that the Establishment Division will officially issue a notification regarding the office hours before the start of Ramadan, according to which implementation will be ensured.

The timing of government offices during Ramadan will be implemented in accordance with the official notification issued by the federal government, which is likely to be issued soon.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has given the possible date for the sighting of the Ramadan moon. The first day will be on March 1 or March 2, and details have emerged.
According to the Meteorological Department, the Ramadan moon will be born on Friday, February 28, at 5:45 PM and may be visible on the evening of March 1. Thus, the first fast across the country is likely to be on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
According to reports, if the moon is sighted on March 1, the holy month of Ramadan will begin in Pakistan, and the first fast will be on March 2. However, the final announcement in this regard will be made by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
According to foreign media, the moon may be sighted on February 28 in the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries, after which Ramadan will begin there on March 1.
The final date will be announced only after the moon is sighted in Pakistan. However, according to reports, the fasting month is likely to begin on March 2. Millions of Muslims across the country have begun preparations for Ramadan.
It should be noted that the final decision on the moon sighting will be made in consultation with the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
