ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Actress Mawra Hocane surprised everyone by announcing her marriage to Ameer Gilani on Wednesday evening.
The couple had been the subject of rumors in the past about a romantic relationship, but they always referred to each other as friends. They had worked together in the 2020 drama Sabaat and the 2023 drama Neem.
Rumors about their wedding started circulating on Tuesday night, and by Wednesday, Mawra shared a picture of them in wedding attire at Lahore Fort. She captioned it, “and in the middle of chaos… I found you,” with the date and the hashtag #MawraAmeerHoGayi.
For the wedding, Mawra wore a sky blue lehenga with a colorful border and pale gold embroidery with pink accents. Ameer wore a charcoal-colored shalwar kameez with a matching waistcoat and shawl, paired with tan Peshawari chapals.

Their announcement was met with congratulations from their friends, including Mawra’s sister Urwa and her husband Farhan Saeed.

Earlier, there had been rumors about their wedding. Mawra, and Ameer became popular for their roles in Sabaat (2020) and Neem (2023). The two are frequently seen together and have both studied law abroad.
Fans have long hoped that the on-screen pair would become a real couple. Social media speculated that they would marry in February 2025, with an official announcement expected soon. However, Mawra and Ameer have not confirmed the news.
Mawra had praised Ameer in an interview, calling him a wonderful person and a close friend. She mentioned that two friends could choose to marry.
Ameer also shared in an interview that he wanted a life partner who could be his best friend, emphasizing that traditional marriage roles and age differences didn’t matter to him.
Recently, rumors also suggested that three showbiz weddings, including those of Kubra Khan and Gohar Rasheed, might take place in February 2025.
