Saudi Arabia, UAE deport Pakistanis over drug, theft charges

KARACHI : In the last 48 hours, 139 Pakistani citizens have been deported from 10 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Mauritania, Senegal, Malaysia, and Oman.

According to immigration sources, 34 Pakistanis were deported from Iraq for illegal entry and overstaying their visas. Two of them were handed over to Gujranwala police.

From Oman, 24 citizens were deported for entering the country illegally. One of them was on the Interpol blacklist and was transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC). The other two were handed over to the administrations of Larkana and Lahore.

In Saudi Arabia, 14 individuals were deported for being on the blacklist, involvement in drugs, theft, traveling without passports, and other charges. Three people rescued from human trafficking were deported from Mauritania, and two from Senegal.

Immigration sources also reported that 31 Pakistanis were deported from the UAE. Among them, 19 were convicted of charges like drug offenses, theft, overstaying visas, and losing passports.

Additionally, 8 Pakistanis were sent back from Malaysia for illegal immigration. Nine citizens were deported from Addis Ababa and Qatar for violating residency laws, fleeing, working illegally, or overstaying their visas.
