ISLAMABAD: Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, has been transferred, while Muhammad Jawad Tariq will now serve as the new DIG Operations for Islamabad Police.
According to an Islamabad Police Spokesperson, Syed Ali Raza has been appointed as DIG Security and Headquarters.
Spokesperson also mentioned that Shoaib Khan has been appointed as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations in Islamabad.
It should be noted that, In May 2024, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi appointed Syed Ali Raza (PSP/BS-19) as DIG Operations Islamabad. Ali Raza was posted as SSP Operations in Lahore before becoming DIG of Islamabad.

On the other hand, the Islamabad Police has marked a significant achievement, reporting a 75% reduction in serious crimes in 2024 compared to the previous year.
As per the official data, serious crimes in Islamabad decreased from 269 cases in 2023 to 200 in 2024. This significant decline is attributed to the proactive measures and strategic planning implemented by the Operations Division.
The report says the Operations Division made 24,387 arrests in various criminal cases throughout the year, recovering stolen goods valued at over Rs. 2.38 billion.
The crackdown on criminal elements also led to the dismantling of 657 gangs involving 1,531 individuals. Recovered vehicles included 429 cars and 763 motorcycles.
