ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has announced a new ticket policy 2025 for passengers across the country, under which a revised refund policy has been introduced.
According to officials, under this policy, 90 percent of the amount will be refunded for tickets purchased from the railway passenger point of sale if canceled up to 48 hours before the train’s departure. This refund policy will also apply to tickets purchased through the ‘Rabta’ app.
Accordingly, 80 percent of the amount will be refunded if canceled 24 to 48 hours before the train’s departure, while 70 percent of the amount will be refunded if canceled within 24 hours of departure. Fifty percent of the amount will be refunded if canceled within 2 hours after the train’s departure.
If the train departs 6 hours or more late, passengers will receive a full refund. Tickets purchased from the point of sale (POS) will be refunded only at the counter where the ticket was originally purchased.

Passengers must submit the original ticket and a copy of their CNIC for a refund, in exchange for which they will receive a cancellation slip and the refund amount.
For online ticket refunds, passengers must use the same service through which the payment was made. The same refund policy applied to POS tickets will also apply to online tickets.
However, online tickets will not be refunded after the train has departed, and online tickets cannot be canceled if there is less than one hour and 30 minutes remaining before departure.
