ISLAMABAD: Every year, Pakistanis observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5. On this day, human chains are formed on roads connecting Pakistan with Kashmir and other important places, along with rallies and processions.
Pakistanis and Kashmiris living around the world observe Solidarity Day as a special day. This day was first celebrated in 1990, when the Government of Pakistan gave special importance to it to highlight the struggle of the Kashmiri people at the international level.
Will February 5, 2025, be a public holiday in Pakistan?
According to a recent notification issued by the Cabinet Division of the Government of Pakistan, February 5, 2025, will be a public holiday across the country.

As per the notification, like in previous years, February 5 will be a public holiday this year too in recognition of the importance of the day.
Government offices, educational institutions, and many private businesses will remain closed on this day, giving citizens an opportunity to participate in activities highlighting the importance of Kashmir Day.
This announcement further strengthens the collective efforts to draw attention to the Kashmir issue at the international level and reaffirms Pakistan’s national commitment to Kashmir.
