ISLAMABAD: Fears of an animal shortage in the country have arisen. The Animal Husbandry Commissioner has taken notice of the illegal slaughter of animals.
According to reports, the Commissioner has written a letter to the Chief Secretaries of Punjab and Sindh, directing them to stop the slaughter of bulls and buffaloes below the age of three years.
The Animal Husbandry Commissioner stated in the letter that buffaloes and bulls should be prevented from being slaughtered until they reach the usable age of 10 years.
According to the letter, the slaughter of goats and sheep below the age of one and a half years should also be stopped.

The Animal Husbandry Commissioner further wrote that goats and sheep should not be slaughtered until they reach the usable age of four years.

On the other hand, Two cattle died from electrocution at the livestock exhibition held at the Expo Center in Karachi.
According to the President of the Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association Pakistan, Shakir Umar, two cattle died due to electrocution at the livestock exhibition at the Expo Center.

Shakir Umar said that the incident took place at an exhibition organized by the Sindh government. The Livestock Department will compensate the affected person.
It should be noted that Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Provincial Minister for Livestock and Fisheries Muhammad Ali Malkani inaugurated the Livestock Expo 2025 exhibition at the Expo Center in Karachi.
