ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Law has issued a notification for the appointment of two additional judges to the Islamabad High Court, following the approval of President Asif Ali Zardari.
According to the notification, Raja Inaam Amin Minhas and Azam Khan have been appointed as additional judges for a one-year term.
The oath-taking ceremony for the new judges will be held on Monday, January 20, 2025.
Yesterday, the Judicial Commission approved the appointments during a meeting chaired by Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Yahya Afridi. The commission also approved three additional judges for the Balochistan High Court.
In a statement released after the meeting, the commission confirmed the nomination of Azam Khan and Inam Amin Minhas for the Islamabad High Court. It also announced the appointment of Muhammad Asif, Najmuddin Mengal, and Muhammad Ayub as additional judges for the Balochistan High Court.

The statement noted that candidates who did not secure a majority vote would be considered for future vacancies. While the approval for the Balochistan High Court judges was unanimous, the Islamabad High Court appointments were approved by a majority vote.
