LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced a new scheme to give free 3-marla plots to poor and deserving people.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, inaugurated the Maskan-e-Ravi ‘Zahra Homes’ in Kala Shah Kaku, media reported. During her visit, she checked the homes and was pleased with the quality. Maryam Nawaz gave allotment letters and keys to 100 families.
The project in Lahore’s Kala Khatayi Road has 100 homes. Each house is 400 square feet with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a courtyard. Zahra Homes are built using TREND EPS Smart Panel Technology, making them earthquake-resistant, energy-efficient, and eco-friendly.
Each house in Maskan Ravi will have a 5 kW solar system. The community will also have an RO plant for clean water, a school, a playground, a mosque, and a dispensary.
The Maskan Ravi Housing Scheme is a joint project by RUDA and EPS Solutions Pakistan. A documentary on the services of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif was shown at the event.
In another development, Maryam Nawaz approved Rs62 billion for the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ program to provide loans to 40,000 people by May. A cabinet meeting was held to speed up the loan process, and officials were asked to review a proposal to raise loan limits from Rs1.5 million to Rs2 million.
So far, 5,000 people have received loans, and over 4,200 houses are nearly finished.
