ISLAMABAD: At least 10 people lost their lives, and seven others were injured after a bus overturned on the M-14 Motorway near Fateh Jang, the Motorway Police reported.
As per the private tv channel report, the accident occurred due to the driver’s negligence as the bus was en route from Bahawalpur to Islamabad.
The deceased and injured were transported to THQ Hospital Fateh Jang, according to the spokesperson.
Bus accidents are a frequent occurrence in Pakistan, often attributed to factors like driver negligence, road conditions, and weather.
Last month, an “over-speeding” bus carrying wedding guests veered off a bridge into the Indus River, claiming at least 14 lives in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The bus, part of a wedding procession, was traveling towards Punjab’s Chakwal district when it plunged into the river from Telchi bridge within the limits of Diamer district. Authorities confirmed that two individuals, including the bride, were rescued in the incident.

Earlier, in September 2024, six people died, and 20 others sustained injuries in Balochistan’s Sherani district after a bus fell into a ditch in the Danasar area.
In August, at least two major bus accidents occurred. One incident involved 25 fatalities when a passenger bus carrying 30 people from Haveli Kahuta to Rawalpindi fell into a ditch near Pana Bridge.
