ISLAMABAD/RAWALPINDI: YouTube has released its highly awaited end-of-year list, showing the most popular videos of 2024. The list gives a clear picture of Pakistan’s favorite videos and changing habits when it comes to watching content online.
The list this year is divided into three main categories: Top Trending Videos, Top Music Videos, and Top Creators.
In Pakistan, entertainment is still the most popular, with local dramas and action movies topping the list of trending videos. Dramas like Ishq Murshid, Jaan Nisar, and Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum have caught the most attention, claiming the top three spots. This shows Pakistan’s strong love for great storytelling.
The Top Music Videos category features a mix of international and local musical talents. The top three videos are Gippy Grewal and Jasmine Sandlas’s “Nabbe Nabbe,” the song “Aaj Ki Raat” from Stree 2, and the heartfelt “Balo Batiyan” by Ali Zafar and Atta Ullah Esakhelvi.

In the Top Creators segment, channels like Rajab’s Family, Anaya Eeshal Family, Arshad Reels, and Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad have made their mark. These creators reflect the increasing Pakistani interest in lifestyle, healthcare, and educational content.
This year also witnessed a notable rise in the volume of content being uploaded by Pakistani creators. The total hours of content uploaded by local creators increased by 60% in Pakistan, while the number of creators earning over Rs10 million annually from YouTube grew by 25%.

“Pakistani creators are captivating the world. With over 65% of watch time on Pakistani content coming from viewers outside the country, these creators are showing their ability to speak to a global audience,” a press release quoted Google’s Country Director for Pakistan, Farhan Qureshi, as saying.
