ISLAMABAD: Most areas of Pakistan are expected to experience hot and dry weather today, according to the Meteorological Department. A heatwave alert has been issued, with high temperatures predicted from today until April 30, 2025.
As per the private tv report, the department reports that a high-pressure system will enter the upper atmosphere today, affecting most parts of the country starting tomorrow.
In South Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan, daytime temperatures may rise 5 to 7 degrees Celsius above normal. In Islamabad, Central and Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, temperatures are expected to increase by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius.
From April 30, rain-causing winds are likely to enter the upper regions, bringing rain and possible hailstorms to Kashmir, Islamabad, Northeast Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan between April 30 and May 1. The heatwave is expected to ease after May 1.

Summer School Holidays in Punjab;
Due to rising temperatures, the Punjab Education Department has announced summer holidays starting June 1. Secretary School Education Punjab, Khalid Nazir Watto, told Dawn News that if the heat intensifies further, holidays could begin a week earlier.
