KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has instructed both the Federal and Provincial Governments to reassess the process for granting licenses to water manufacturing companies.
As per report, After reviewing the case concerning the extraction of underground water by water manufacturing companies, the Sindh High Court issued a detailed judgment.
The court has imposed a ban on the extraction of underground water by companies across Sindh without official permission. It has also ordered all union councils and corporations to take action against illegal underground water extractors.

Sindh Court has ordered the relevant authorities to inspect water companies and have their water tested in laboratories.
Additionally, the court directed the companies to clearly list the ingredients of mineral and bottled water on their labels.
The SHC requested details on the progress of plans for developing all the laboratories established in Sindh.
The court requested details from the health secretary regarding dialysis machines and staff across Sindh. The court then postponed the case hearing until October 3, 2024.
