RAWALPINDI: The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), helmed the significant two-day-long 261st Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) convened at GHQ.
This paramount gathering orchestrated deliberations encompassing national security, international dynamics, and operational strategies while specifically emphasizing the Pakistan Army’s resolute commitment to bolster the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the forthcoming general elections.
“In a staunch display of support for the democratic process, Pakistan Army reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to assist the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for the forthcoming general elections,” affirmed the ISPR statement. This commitment underscores the pivotal role of the military in ensuring the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
The conference paid solemn homage to the sacrifices of the Shuhadas, symbolizing officers, armed personnel, and civilians, whose unwavering dedication remains integral to preserving peace and stability within the nation. A reverential Fateha was observed for the Shuhadas, notably commemorating the victims of the DI Khan attack, acknowledging their steadfast contributions to the nation’s security.
Reaffirming its steadfast resolve, the Pakistan Army reiterated its commitment to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation against both direct and indirect threats. This commitment stands as a cornerstone in preserving Pakistan’s defense and stability.
Expressing grave concerns over the persisting human rights violations in IIOJK, the ISPR condemned the recent reprehensible acts of abduction, torture, and civilian killings by the Indian Army. Such egregious actions were unequivocally denounced as severe crimes against humanity, with unwavering support reiterated for the legitimate struggle of Kashmiris in line with international law and relevant UNSC resolutions.
The conference also addressed prevailing geo-strategic challenges and evolving threats to national security, including concerns regarding sanctuaries and operational freedom provided to proscribed terrorist organizations, particularly TTP, in a neighboring country, posing significant risks to Pakistan’s security.
Emphasizing a resolute stance against terrorism, the ISPR underscored concerted efforts to combat terrorists, their facilitators, and supporters operating at the behest of hostile forces aimed at destabilizing Pakistan.
In solidarity with the people of Palestine, the forum condemned the grave human rights violations and war crimes in Gaza. Strong support was voiced for the immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the pursuit of a peaceful resolution to the ongoing conflict.
The conference concluded with a firm commitment to confront challenges, fortify national security, and foster regional peace and stability.
