Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attends Funeral of Shaheed Captain Faraz Ilyas

KASUR: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday attended the Namaz-e-Janaza of Shaheed Captain Faraz Ilyas in Kasur. Captain Faraz Ilyas was martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in District Lakki Marwat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The funeral prayer was attended by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, IG Police Punjab, and several senior military officers, civil authorities, and residents.

PM attends Namaz-e-Janaza of Shaheed Captain Faraz Ilyas. The Prime Minister also met with the parents of the shaheed captain and expressed condolences.

The Prime Minister announced plans to transform the native village of the martyred officer into a model village and rename it “Faraz Ilyas Shaheed.”

Shehbaz Sharif told the parents that their son’s sacrifice would not go in vain and prayed for the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.

Shehbaz attends Namaz-e-Janaza of Shaheed Captain Faraz Ilyas. Under Quranic teachings, a shaheed has an elevated place in Jannah, he said, adding that a large number of jawans from the armed forces have laid down their lives for the motherland.

The PM said that the nation was proud of its brave sons and that cowardly terrorists could not succeed in shaking their strong resolve.

Separately, on his X (Twitter) account, the Prime Minister expressed deep sadness over the martyrdom of Pak Army personnel, including a captain, in a targeted attack in District Lakki Marwat.

Shehbaz Sharif attends the Namaz-e-Janaza of Shaheed Captain Faraz Ilyas. “The sacrifices made by our courageous soldiers and citizens are a debt upon us, one that we must repay by tirelessly eradicating terrorism from our nation.”

Heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families,” he further posted. The late captain was laid to rest with complete military honours. The prime minister offered Fateha at his grave and placed a flower wreath.

Shehbaz Sharif also prayed for the departed soul to attain high ranks. PM attends the Namaz-e-Janaza of Shaheed Captain Faraz Ilyas. Shaheed Captain Faraz Ilyas, a 26-year-old, belonged to the village of Rai Kalan in Kasur. He valiantly laid down his life while performing his duties in Lakki Marwat.
