Lahore: The Lahore District Administration has set up six cattle markets across the city for buying and selling sacrificial animals, aiming to make the process smooth and organized ahead of Eidul Azha 2025.
As per the details, the administration has arranged for better cleanliness, water supply, parking, and other necessary facilities for traders and buyers.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Syed Musa Raza visited Maweshi Mandi, where the Chief Officer of Metropolitan Corporation Lahore and Assistant Commissioner Nishtar Town gave a detailed briefing.
DC Lahore checked the facilities himself and gave instructions to make further improvements to ensure the markets run well. The Punjab Cattle Market Company (PCMC) has been directed to provide continuous services, including water, designated shelters, and parking for traders and visitors.
DC Lahore stated that the focus is on keeping the markets running smoothly to provide a good experience for everyone involved.
In addition, the Lahore District Administration has taken steps to improve sanitation, manage sewerage, and clear encroachments across the city.

During a visit to Tehsil Nishtar, DC Lahore inspected cleanliness and drainage in areas like Gajjumatta and Kaccha. Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Shahid Abbas Kathia and Assistant Commissioner Nishtar M Saleem Asi briefed him on the administrative efforts.
The administration has instructed the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) to enhance waste disposal by removing solid waste daily to designated sites. The “Clean Lahore Mission” includes a plan to clear encroachments, relocate informal settlements, and move livestock away from residential areas.
DC Lahore expressed his commitment to making Lahore cleaner and more organized by using all available resources. He said efforts to improve sanitation and municipal services will continue to ensure convenience for residents and keep the city visually appealing.
For Eidul Azha, the Lahore District Administration has set up cattle markets at six places in Lahore: Shahpur Mandi, Sagian Mandi (Mouza Nain Sukh), Barke Road Mandi (near Paragon, Cantt Zone), Wagah Complex in Nishtar Zone, Manawan Mandi, LDA City in Kahna Mandi, Nishtar Zone, and Haveli Markaz in Raiwind Zone.
These markets have facilities like water, parking, and cleanliness to make buying and selling animals easy and organized.

Separately, Eight locations have been designated for livestock markets in Rawalpindi for Eidul Azha. Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer Amir Khattak has banned the sale of animals at unauthorized places. Markets have been set up at three locations in Rawalpindi Tehsil Bhatta Chowk, Chakri Road, and Kallar Syedan Road.
Markets will also be established at Galiana Road near the Slaughter House in Gujar Khan Tehsil, Sharif Hospital Stop GT Road and Timber Market Road in Taxila, Mangal Bypass in Kallar Syedan Tehsil, and Chan Shah Jalyar, Tangi Road in Kahuta Tehsil.
The administration is ensuring facilities like disinfectant sprays, cleanliness, fire brigade services, and other amenities in all markets. The traffic police have been directed to create an effective traffic plan around these markets.
