ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has decided to run four special trains for Eid-ul-Fitr 2024.
As per a report from a private TV channel, Aamir Ali Baloch, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Railways, has directed arrangements to be made for the operation of Eid special trains.
Aamir Baloch mentioned that the Eid special trains will cater to passengers traveling from Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta to provide relief.
Additionally, the CEO of Railways noted that a reduction in Eid fares will be considered if there is a decrease in the prices of petroleum products.
He emphasized the importance of coal transportation in covering approximately 50 percent of railway expenses and underscored the ongoing need for efforts to ensure efficient railway operations.
Aamir Ali commended the endeavors of former Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique in improving the railway infrastructure, such as track restoration and the enhancement of profitable train services.
Every year, individuals from all over Pakistan journey to various parts of the country to reunite with their families during the two Eid holidays, with trains being the primary mode of long-distance travel.
The introduction of special trains by the railway department is a commendable step to accommodate those wishing to spend their holidays with loved ones, aiming to alleviate the strain on regular train services.
Eid-ul-Fitr is expected to occur on April 11 in Pakistan.
