ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has praised the Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials and workers for their dedicated efforts during Eid-ul-Adha to maintain exemplary cleanliness in the federal capital Islamabad.
According to the details, he announced a basic salary as a reward for those participating in the Zero Waste Operation and a daily wage of Rs. 15,000 for sanitary workers.
“Together, we aim to make Islamabad an internationally renowned city,” he expressed during a special ceremony honoring the workers involved in fulfilling their duties round-the-clock.
Minister Naqvi commended Chairman CDA, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and field teams for their vigilance during the Eid holidays in overseeing this operation. He also announced a basic allowance for employees involved in the Zero Waste Operation and a daily wage of Rs. 15,000 for workers on daily wages.
Minister Naqvi stated that 2,400 tons of waste were lifted from urban and rural areas of Islamabad in three days. For the first time, drones were used to monitor the cleanliness operation, with 2,500 workers and 250 vehicles participating in the Zero Waste Operation. He said that citizens of Islamabad have expressed full satisfaction with the Zero Waste Operation during Eid-ul-Adha.

Mohsin Naqvi said that citizens’ satisfaction shows the effectiveness of CDA’s performance. He also thanked the citizens of Islamabad for their cooperation with field teams regarding cleanliness. Mohsin Naqvi said that a team was formed from officers to employees, whom I congratulated.
The interior minister said that CDA, MCI, district administration, Islamabad police, Safe City, and traffic police worked round the clock, all departments worked with harmony and prioritized public service over departmental differentiation, for which I also presented an appreciation.
He also appreciated the effective monitoring of the Safe City team. The interior minister said that we understand Islamabad and ensure that we keep the city clean and green. He said that together, we all want to make Islamabad a city of international standards.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa also spoke at the ceremony and thanked the field teams. Federal Secretary Interior Karam Agha, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa, IG Islamabad Police Ali Nasser Rizvi, DC Islamabad Arfan Mim, DIG Safe City, and relevant officers also attended the ceremony.
It is important to note that Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced a reward of one basic salary only for the employees who took part in the zero-waste operation during Eid-ul-Azha.
In his speech, he also said that CDA daily wage workers will be given Rs15,000 each. In three days, 2,400 tons of waste and animal remains were removed from urban and rural areas of Islamabad.
