RAWALPINDI: The military’s media wing stated that security forces carried out an intelligence-driven operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, resulting in the death of one terrorist and injuries to two others. The operation, as per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), took place on the night of March 20-21.
During the operation, the troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ position, resulting in the death of militant Chakar Liaquat and injuries to two others. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the deceased terrorist, who was actively involved in various terrorist activities, according to the ISPR.
The ISPR also mentioned that a sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area, as Pakistan’s security forces are committed to eradicating terrorism from the country.
The Panjgur operation followed shortly after a failed attack on the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) Complex by a group of gunmen, which was thwarted by the military.
In the subsequent clearance operation, all eight terrorists were neutralized, and a significant amount of weapons, ammunition, and explosives were seized.
The ISPR acknowledged the sacrifice of two brave soldiers, Sepoy Bahar Khan and Sepoy Imran Ali, who lost their lives during the exchange of fire.
It emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces, in unity with the nation, remain resolute in preventing any attempts to disrupt the peace and stability of Balochistan, and such acts of bravery further strengthen their determination.
