Army Chief Discusses Pak-Saudi Military Cooperation with Saudi Crown Prince

JEDDAH: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir convened a meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz on Wednesday, focusing on discussions surrounding military collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

According to a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief engaged with the Saudi prime minister during an official trip to the Gulf kingdom. The ISPR noted that a variety of topics of shared interest, such as regional stability, bilateral defense, and security cooperation, were deliberated upon during the meeting.

The military’s media wing reported that Mohammad Bin Salman emphasized the longstanding fraternal ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, underscoring the nations’ consistent support for one another.

Furthermore, the crown prince conveyed his eagerness to bolster bilateral relations, reaffirming the kingdom’s steadfast support for Pakistan in the future, as per the ISPR.

In response, the COAS extended gratitude to the Saudi leadership for their warm sentiments and unwavering support.

As stated by the Saudi Press Agency, attendees at the meeting included Saudi Minister of Defence Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, National Security Advisor Dr Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Chief of General Intelligence Khalid bin Ali Al-Humaidan, Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf Al-Malki.

Representing Pakistan were Ambassador Ahmed Farooq, Secretary to the Commander of the Pakistani Army Major General Mohammed Jawad Tariq, and Military Attaché at the Embassy of Pakistan in the Kingdom Brig Muhammad Asim.
