Five More Detection Dogs from Punjab Police’s Special Branch Retire

Five more detection dogs from the Special Branch of the Punjab Police have concluded their years of service and were presented with well-deserved medals and certificates of appreciation. The retirement ceremony, attended by Additional IG Zulfikar Hameed, SSP Nadeem Abbas, and prominent animal rights activists, recognized the outstanding contributions of these loyal canines.

During the event, Additional IG Zulfikar Hameed expressed his satisfaction that the retired detection dogs will receive proper care and attention in their post-service lives. It is a customary practice to retire these dogs after eight years of dedicated service.

Dr. Osman, the head of the dog training center, disclosed that three other dogs had also recently retired. These retired canines are now enjoying a period of rest and relaxation, under the guidance of experts who oversee their dietary needs and continued training.

Families who qualified for the adoption program eagerly came forward to provide loving homes for these retired dogs. They pledged to provide special care and attention to ensure the well-being of these faithful companions.

Furthermore, during the ceremony, the Additional IG Special Branch conducted a comprehensive review of the kennel and training facilities for the in-service detection dogs, emphasizing the importance of maintaining their high level of proficiency.
