ISLAMABAD: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), has announced a planned sit-in protest outside the Supreme Court premises on Monday.
Addressing the Chief Justice, Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed his discontent with recent court decisions, stating that the PDM does not accept the ruling of a few individuals.
He emphasized that the sit-in aims to raise objections against the conduct of the Supreme Court.
Accusing the Chief Justice of taking unilateral actions, Maulana Fazlur Rehman criticized the court for allegedly granting protection to individuals involved in embezzlement.
Responding to a question, he stated, “Pakistan’s economy, constitution, and law are being jeopardized.”
Furthermore, Maulana Fazlur Rehman questioned the impartiality of the judiciary, claiming that it is surpassing the boundaries defined by the constitution and law. He questioned whether similar leniency was afforded to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
The PDM chief warned that any attempts at aggression during the sit-in would be met with forceful retaliation. He underscored that PDM members are ordinary citizens and not supernatural beings.
