Government schools in Punjab, including Lahore, have reopened today after a three-day closure. However, the attendance in these schools has been notably low. On the other hand, colleges and universities are scheduled to resume regular operations starting from Monday.
The Secretary of School Education has stated that the reason for the closure of schools across Punjab was the recent riots that occurred for two days. Meanwhile, private A plus and A category schools remained closed today, as Saturdays are typically observed as off-days for most private schools.
Unfortunately, the new timetable for the postponed exams for class 9, which are organized by the nine boards of Punjab, has not been released yet.
In a contrasting development, the British Council has announced that A and O level Cambridge examinations in Pakistan will resume from Monday. According to Cambridge Assessment International, the papers will be conducted as per the original schedule, commencing from Monday, May 15.
