SARGODHA: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has postponed the election for the National Assembly (NA) constituency NA-85 in Sargodha, Punjab province, due to the death of a candidate.
In a notification issued by the ECP, it was stated that the election in NA-85 was postponed due to the demise of the candidate for the constituency, Sadiq Ali.
The notification of the postponement of the elections was issued by the Returning Officer for the said constituency in Sargodha, Shoaib Ahmed Naswana. He also mentioned that the schedule for the election in the constituency would be reissued.
General elections are scheduled to be held across the country on February 8, 2024, which will include the National Assembly and four provincial assemblies, as well as three NA constituencies in the federal capital, Islamabad.
